Ask anyone you speak to if they want to be successful and they will likely say yes, they do. But, what does that really mean and how does one achieve success? I thought about this long and hard for most of my career and personal life. I discovered something profound as I reached my 40s, I was already successful! Not to mention, I had been successful all my life. I came to this realization when it occurred to me success simply is---it is, and we experience it every day. The problem is that most of us define success based on how much money we have or material stuff we own. Yes, success can be an accumulation of wealth and material items at the surface level. But lasting, real success is deeper and more substantial. Furthermore, it’s a mindset as much as it is an action. But this important understanding gets lost in our society because we are taught that only those who have power, status and money are considered a success. I am happy to say, that is not the case. Success is what you say it is for your life and how you approach the results of your efforts.
