People often ask “What’s my purpose in life?” or “Why am I here?” The answer to these questions seems difficult to address. However, the response is actually simple, if we don’t over think it. So, here is the answer: your purpose in life is to be the best YOU that you can be. You are here in this life to represent the best of humanity or human kind under chance, circumstance and suffering, as well as in joyful or happy life states. Yes, that’s it. But, its a high calling.
How do I know this? Well, consider the following: each of us are driven to be the best we can be in this life, and we are each a unique embodiment of existence at each moment. In fact, you and I represent different aspects of each moment itself. Therefore, you have innate traits and special qualities that make YOU the person that is needed in a given situation or moment to help others. You have everything you need within you to cultivate successful outcomes. In short, you are human, with human traits and experiences that make you–YOU. As such, you are meant to be, as you are. You are qualified to be kind, compassionate and caring. You are purposed to be loving and forgiving, as well as gentle and patient. You are designed to be courageous and firm in the face of adversity. Likewise, you are built to show mercy. These are the qualities that we as humans are endowed with and are capable of being at any time of our choosing.
Unfortunatley, we can also be inhumane, selfish and uncaring too. Our selfish and hateful nature is not the best we can offer. When we are the opposite of our best qualities, we are demonstrating what “not” to be. Greed, jealousy and hate lead to destruction. Do these qualities have purpose? Absolutely! To remind you of your humanity. To remind you to treat others as you want to be treated. We need these traits to affirm our purpose to be human.
When you are the best of human qualities, you represent the highest of humanity, you are the true nature and example of what you are meant to be. Likewise, you are the ideal example that others can emulate. How you carry out your purpose is your choice, which is the beauty of your uniqueness and what makes your qualities special. So, your purpose is to be the very best that you can be in this life. Is this an easy task? Nope. Conditioning, attachments, and our false sense of self can hinder about ability to be our very best. But, the more we understand the importance of our purpose, the stronger our conviction becomes to develop our better qualities and to live our purpose fully.
